This is more a beef I have with the education system, than a legitimate post. But this blog is my soap box until Laura Willson removes the privilege.
Let me start by saying I think it's great that college is now an attainable goal for nearly anyone who wants to attend. With scholarships, grants, community colleges, online education, etc. there's a wealth of education avenues for people to investigate, regardless of money. Additionally, as Americans, we've added a social pressure to get a college degree and not having one means you aren't on the same playing field as those who do.
However, the idea of saying that college is for everyone is misleading and dangerous. College is not for everyone, nor should it be. Not only does it cause frustration among those who don't know what they want to do with their life, it also creates a bottleneck of identical graduates.
